TECHNICAL UNDERSTANDING
An engineer’s perspective.
Ritchie holds a PhD and MEng in Mechanical Engineering. His experience spans private practice, hands-on automotive engineering and in-house patent work within product development.
That background is particularly relevant to mechanical inventions, consumer products, manufacturing and related engineering technologies. Share a high-level description of the subject matter so that technical fit can be assessed before accepting instructions.

Advice you can use.
Reporting is tailored to the scope you need: forwarding an official communication, providing a reasoned recommendation, or preparing a proposed response. The aim is to help you explain the available options and their implications to your client.
For each matter, we agree who gives instructions, who receives correspondence, the billing arrangements and how deadlines will be confirmed. Estimates distinguish professional fees from official fees and other disbursements.
START AN INSTRUCTION
Let’s discuss your next European matter.
Email Ritchie with your firm’s name, the type of assistance required, a high-level technical description and any relevant deadline. Please do not send unpublished technical detail or confidential documents before conflict checks.
For a cost estimate, indicate whether you need filing support, prosecution advice or a transfer of representation. Receipt of an enquiry does not confirm acceptance of instructions or responsibility for a deadline; these will be confirmed expressly.
